Travel Labor & Delivery RN in Lancaster, CA

If you are an experienced Travel L&D RN, we have an open position in Lancaster, CA, this temporary hospital assignment offers the opportunity to care for mothers and newborns in a high-acuity setting. This is a 13-week travel assignment on day and night shift. The role is designed for experienced travel nurses who are comfortable working in a fast-paced Labor and Delivery department. Candidates must be prepared to meet all scheduling and floating expectations before submission.

Travel Labor & Delivery RN: About the Role

The Travel L&D RN will provide comprehensive nursing care throughout the labor, delivery, recovery, and immediate postpartum phases. This assignment is located within a regional acute care hospital serving a diverse patient population with a broad range of obstetric needs.

This role is best suited for clinicians who thrive in busy environments, communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, and remain calm under pressure. Travelers should expect a collaborative culture focused on patient safety, teamwork, and quality outcomes.

Travel L&D RN Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assess and monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout labor.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and clinical protocols.
• Interpret fetal heart monitoring and respond appropriately to changing patient conditions.
• Assist physicians during labor and delivery procedures.
• Educate patients and families regarding labor, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatal teams, and surgical staff.
• Maintain complete and accurate clinical documentation.
• Float to the Operating Room as required by department staffing needs.
• Participate in weekend, holiday, and rotating schedules when assigned.

Travel Labor & Delivery RN in Lancaster, CA Schedule

• Employment Type: Temporary Travel Assignment
• Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 Hours Weekly
• Schedule Options:
  • Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Shift Pattern: Four 12-hour shifts each week
• Overtime paid at 1.5 times the applicable rate.
• Candidates must commit to the agreed schedule before submission.

Compensation and Benefits

Weekly Pay

• Weekly Gross Pay: $2,932.80 – $3,124.80

Travel L&D RN Requirements

Applicants should possess the following qualifications:

License

• Active California Registered Nurse License

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Experience

• Minimum two years of L&D RN experience
• Minimum one completed travel nursing assignment

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NRP
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring
• NIHSS

Additional expectations include:

• Comfortable floating to the Operating Room when needed
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to completing the full assignment
