Responsibilities of the Operating Room RN Travel Nurse

As an Operating Room RN Travel Nurse your responsibilities include:

  • Prepare operating rooms before surgical procedures.
  • Verify patient identity, procedure, and surgical site.
  • Maintain sterile technique throughout surgical cases.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists.
  • Monitor patient safety before, during, and after surgery.
  • Document perioperative care accurately and completely.
  • Manage surgical equipment and specialty instrumentation.
  • Respond effectively during emergency and trauma procedures.
  • Participate in weekday, weekend, and holiday call rotations.
  • Support orthopedic, trauma, and robotic surgical cases.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Active California Registered Nurse license
  • Nursing degree from an accredited program
  • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience
  • Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Required Clinical Experience

The Operating Room RN Travel Nurse in Lancaster, CA must demonstrate recent experience with:

  • Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma surgery
  • Orthopedic surgery
