Acquire Medstaff LLC is recruiting an experienced Travel CVOR RN for a 13-week assignment in Lancaster, California. This temporary, full-time travel nursing position offers 40 guaranteed hours per week on a varied 4×10 day shift schedule. Weekly gross compensation ranges from $3,660 to $3,910, including eligible travel stipends. The assignment is based in a fast-paced Level II Trauma hospital operating room and requires recent cardiovascular operating room and open heart surgical experience.

About the Travel CVOR RN Role

The Travel CVOR RN will provide specialized perioperative nursing care in a high-acuity cardiovascular operating room environment. This assignment is intended for a clinically experienced registered nurse who can integrate into an established surgical team and contribute effectively throughout a 13-week travel contract.

The role requires a strong foundation in cardiovascular surgical nursing, particularly open heart procedures. Candidates must be comfortable working in an operating room where clinical priorities may change according to surgical volume, patient acuity, and urgent procedural needs.

The Travel CVOR RN will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, registered nurses, and other perioperative personnel to support safe and coordinated surgical care.

Because this is a specialized assignment, recent cardiovascular operating room experience is essential. General operating room experience alone does not satisfy the clinical requirements.

Travel CVOR RN Responsibilities

The Travel CVOR RN will perform perioperative nursing duties consistent with their documented competencies, assigned responsibilities, and facility policies.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Provide direct perioperative nursing care during cardiovascular and open heart surgical procedures.
  • Support operating room preparation, including equipment, instrumentation, supplies, and procedural readiness.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain patient safety throughout the perioperative process.
  • Perform circulating responsibilities and other assigned nursing functions within verified clinical competencies.
  • Participate in surgical safety checks, patient identification, and required procedural documentation.
  • Maintain sterile technique and follow established infection prevention protocols.
  • Monitor and communicate patient care needs during assigned surgical procedures.
  • Respond appropriately to changing clinical priorities and urgent surgical situations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation according to organizational standards.
  • Participate in weekday, weekend, and holiday call rotation as assigned.
  • Follow applicable nursing standards, safety requirements, and facility procedures.

Successful candidates should demonstrate clinical judgment, effective communication, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary surgical teams.

Travel CVOR RN Clinical Expectations

The Travel CVOR RN must have recent hands-on experience supporting open heart surgery and cardiovascular operating room procedures.

This assignment is not intended as an orientation opportunity for nurses transitioning into CVOR for the first time.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate their clinical experience through a completed CVOR skills checklist and provide documentation supporting their qualifications.
