Position Overview
As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and hygiene while providing exceptional patient care. You will work closely with dentists and dental assistants to perform essential preventive dental procedures, educate patients on proper oral hygiene, and contribute to a positive dental clinic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing
- Conduct comprehensive oral health assessments and examine patients for gum disease and cavities
- Take and interpret digital dental X-rays
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, flossing, and brushing techniques
- Apply preventive dental treatments such as fluoride and sealants
- Maintain accurate dental patient records and assist in dental treatment planning
- Ensure compliance with infection control in dental clinics and safety protocols
Requirements
- Active Dental Hygienist License in Connecticut
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- CPR Certification for Dental Professionals
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills for dental patient care
- A passion for preventive dental care and oral health education
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented dental practice
